The story of J&B begins in 1749 when Giacomo Justerini, from Bologna in Italy, went to London to court the Italian opera singer Margherita Bellino. Justerini & Brooks joined International Distillers & Vintners in 1962 and, finally, the subsidiary Diageo United Distillers & Vintners (UDV) in 1997.
The main expression is J&B Rare, a light colored whiskey with a light body, ideal for blending. The blend contains more than 40 individual whiskeys, with Speyside malts at the center, and in particular its “malt heart” Knockando, along with Auchroisk.
Color: Intense amber.
Bouquet: The nose is fresh and grassy, with notes of walnuts.
Taste: In the mouth it offers malt, spices, fruit salad, with sweet hints of cereals. The finish is well balanced.
